Modeling
Although my history of being in front of the camera would start as a twenty-something year old in Southern California as the typical long blond haired “surfer girl,” my real interest was with the lens and how it saw movement and dance. Valerie Bettis introduced me to this aspect of dance improvisation with the camera as the designer and final choreographer. During my work at UCI when I was honing my craft as a choreographer, I went to the television station on campus and took to the camera again. The selective eye of the cinematic and photographic process with movement made sense to me. Throughout the years, I have used film and video to record and enhance choreographic work.
Today, as a mature woman, I am interested in the camera again, as a commercial model, as well, as an agent of communication. My area of expertise, dance ad fitness can be easily illustrated and transmitted to others through the lens. Also, my love of being in front of the camera can be exhibited with “straight up” commercial work. I can be the fifty-something year old woman who is buff and inspires others her age to work out. Or, I can be the woman on her way to her favorite restaurant for drinks with friends. The commercial, more populist aspect of the lens has a renewed interest for me.
I am available for print and television modeling work.
