Ms. Osborne has taught dance and exercise on the college level since 1978. She began at Ocean County College, New Jersey, teaching ballet and kinesiology for dancers. She spent a year at Nassau Community College, where she was in charge of the technical and choreographic training of the Dance Majors. Starting in 1982, she began a long stint, instructing dance and exercise for The City University of New York. Although she has been on the faculties of Kingsborough Community College, The College of State Island and The Borough of Manhattan Community College, she remains at Queens College and Queensborough Community College where she teaches folk dance to the Physical Education Majors, as well as Dance Aerobics to all general students. Her classes are always entertaining, while have a strong pedagogical component, not to mention a great workout.

She is also very comfortable teaching older adults, finding ways to approach fitness training for the individual needs of her pupils. It is her mission to give them the confidence to challenge their bodies, while energizing their minds and spirits. Age is not always the defining factor when determining a person’s fitness level. Overcoming the psychological barriers that inhibit older adults in their fitness training is essential to success.
